DIY Honeycomb Shelves

Hey you guys out there, it's me Clarissa! Today's my first time posting on this blog and it won't be the last. Diana will still remain the head of all the stuff, but from time to time you'll see a post from me around here. I'll mainly pamper you with selfmade furniture and little craft projects, and that's where we'll start today: With homemade Honeycomb Shelves!

I have a special fondness for fleamarkets, vintage and ancient, outstanding pieces, and that fondness also let my love for the special things in life grow. Well, I'm not really the IKEA-Typ (although I have to admit that even my place is not 100% Swedish furniture free), and desire to create my own ideas and interior. When I moved into my own place I searched the whole internet for interesting DIY Ideas which will make my 30 square meters stand out, and I found this: The beautiful Honeycomb Shelves from A Beautiful Mess. You can find the tutorial here

Luckily it won't be necessary to create my own tutorial because the two girls of A Beautiful Mess already did a really great Job.  But I adapted the project to my needs and individualized it.

The thing I was most worried about was how to secure and perfectly store my records and books. Therefore I changed the measures of the shelf a little bit. Basically my project consists of three equal honey combs. One comb was considered for my records. and two for my books. Records are always 36 cm wide, thats why I added three 36 cm wide elements to my renewed shelf, so my LPs will always be safe and sound. Books are most of the time 12 cm wide, hence I added ten elements with 12 cm and five more, which are 24 cm wide, to keep everything in place.
Ich habe also:

The major elements are:

Three honey combs, one for my records, two for my books

That would be two honey combs, Typ A
And one honey comb, Typ B

That's what you need:

*Ten Elements, 12 cm wide
*Five Elements, 24 cm wide
*Three Elements, 36 cm wide

Just read the introductions on A Beautiful Mess and have a look on my little guidance, than nothing should go wrong. So have fun with the project and be amazed what you can craft with your own hands! <3

  1. Wow!
